Austin’s appetite for the food scene was instilled in him at an early age. He spent countless childhood hours watching television’s greatest chefs impress upon the world the importance of a healthy, home cooked meal. As the years passed, Austin’s passion for food, and the hospitality industry that supports it, ultimately propelled him to work in the family-owned wine business. From the strenuous hours tending vines to the eye-opening experience of working his first job in the kitchen, Austin quickly found that he wanted to further pursue his passion of hospitality by attending the Culinary Institute of America in Napa. During his schooling, he took a job working under Chef Robert Curry at the Michelin-starred Auberge du Soleil restaurant. After graduation, he transitioned his focus to the hotel industry and moved to Portland to work at The Nines Hotel to expand his experience. Trained and equipped with pieces of knowledge from several different facets of the industry, Austin returned to DANCIN Vineyards. His training and experiences serve to help elevate every wine tasting, culinary offering and encounter with each of our guests.
